A two and a half year old little boy was removed from his mother’s care two years ago over concerns that his mother abused prescription drugs, her mental health issues were not treated, and she engaged in domestic violence with this child’s grandmother. The child was placed with a relative out of state, but that placement disrupted at the end of last summer. Even though this child is very young, he has displayed aggressive behaviors. Because of his mother’s positive progress while the child was out of her care, DFS implemented an in home safety plan and the child went home on December 10th. Unfortunately, his mother digressed almost immediately and DFS found pills in the home during a safety check. The child was later found wandering the apartment complex alone. This led to DFS removing the child again. This child is need of an attorney to represent his legal rights and wishes to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing set for June 19, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 23.
