Two children, ages 6 years and a newborn baby, came into DFS care on December 20, 2018 after the baby was born substance exposed (methamphetamine). Mother had no prenatal care, and is believed to be homeless or couch surfing. A third child was initially believed to be staying with his father, but was subsequently removed from his father’s care on January 1, 2019, when mother showed up to grandmother’s home and attempted to take all three children. Mother appears to be making efforts to participate with DFS. None of the various fathers appear to be engaged. All three children are placed together with maternal grandmother. At this time the children are in need of an attorney to represent their wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Disposition Hearing set for March 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. and a Review Hearing set for June 18, 2019 at 2:30 p.m., Both in Courtroom 14.
