This 3 month old baby was exposed in utero to methamphetamines and his mother currently lacks the resources to care for him. Well before his birth, his mother was married and had four children. The mother’s ex-husband reports that she was a great mother with no risky behaviors. After a car accident, she became addicted to pain pills and spiraled out of control. She was no longer living in the home when she became pregnant with with this child. The mother has identified two possible fathers for the baby, one of which has come to court. No family member has agreed to take placement, so the baby is currently living in a licensed foster home. This child needs an attorney to advocate for his legal rights and wishes as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Disposition Hearing set for January 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Courtroom 23.
