Two siblings, age 1 year and age 3 months, were at home with parents with an active in home voluntary case plan when DFS became involved due to 3 month old being exposed to substances in utero; he was born at 28 weeks and has substantial medical needs. Parents did not actively take steps while baby was in hospital to learn how to deal with those needs. DFS provided services in the home; parents continue to use drugs. Additionally, violence has been escalating between parents, the natural father has an active warrant for a domestic violence incident with the natural mother. The home has become unsanitary. Increased in home safety services are not helping with concerns. DFS removed children pursuant to a warrant. Children are placed together in a foster home. The children are currently in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing set for May 22, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 23.
