A four year old child was removed from her mother’s care over concerns of drug abuse and domestic violence between the child’s mother and her boyfriend. At the time CPS responded to the hotline call, the mother could not be found. She later contacted CPS and said she was waiting for a bed to detox and admitted there was a drug abuse problem but wanted help. The child is currently in a foster home, but a paternal relative can take her sometime in January of 2019. The child may be able to live with her mother if she is accepted into a particular program for rehabilitation as well. The child is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to placement, permanency, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Disposition Hearing set for January 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Courtroom 23.
