Two siblings, ages 15 and 9 years of age, came into DFS care in January 2017 due to the mother’s drug usage and neglect. This case is only for one of the children, aged 15, of the sibling group who needs representation as her wishes are in conflict with that of the younger sibling and both children have different fathers. Neither father is engaged. The whereabouts of this child’s father is unknown. Additionally, this child was in placement with maternal grandparents for a significant period of time with a plan of guardianship which recently failed. An attorney is needed to represent this child’s wishes and legal rights regarding permanency, placement, and sibling visitation and to ensure the appropriate services are in place. There is a Status Check set for February 5, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom 22 and a Review Hearing set for July 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 22.
