This is a conflict case that requires a pro bono attorney to represent these five children, ages range from 16 years of age to 6 years of age. Their current attorney is having to give back the case due to a change in circumstances. This matter came to the attention of CPS due to natural mother being deported to mexico 5 years ago, natural father is incarcerated. The children were staying with the father’s girlfriend, however, she has decided that she can no longer care for children and is moving to California. The grandmother was given placement but has since reported she is unable to care for her grandchildren. At this time the home is no longer safe and appropriate. The children need an adult in the home to meet their basic needs. Therefore, the children have been taken into protective custody and were last placed at Child Haven. One of the children has some unresolved mental health issues that will need to be monitored. The rest are doing well.
