Two siblings, ages 16 years and 14 years, came into DFS care in 2008, when their older sibling was sexually abused by their natural father. Both parents have relinquished their rights to the children and the permanency plan for them is adoption. The children are currently placed together, however, the placement is not sure if they are an adoptive resource. The younger child has an IEP which is scheduled to be updated in October 2018. Both children are thriving academically, participating in therapy, and have no medical issues. The girls wishes have changed and they are now in need of two separate attorneys. This child is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Permanency Planning Hearing set for April 16, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 20.
