Two siblings, age 7 years and 1 year, came into DFS care in August, 2018, when present danger was identified as their mother leaves her children with inappropriate care givers. The mother has a history of addiction and it appears that she had a relapse. The whereabouts of the oldest child’s natural father are unknown and the youngest child’s natural father is incarcerated. There have been three case with this family in a two month period. The oldest child is medically fragile and is currently placed at Care Meridian. The youngest child has been placed with relatives. An attorney is needed to represent the children’s wishes and legal rights regarding permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure the appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing on February 20, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in Courtroom 22.
