Four children, 15, 12, 10, and 8 years of age came into DFS care on 8/16/18 due to inadequate supervision and concerns for physical risk. It is alleged that the oldest child engages in criminal activity and that mother is overwhelmed and does very little to monitor the behavior of the children now that father is incarcerated. The children were subsequently placed with maternal grandmother. Mother appears engaged with the department and father is currently incarcerated. Parents have a significant history with the department dating back to 2000. The children are in need of an attorney to represent their wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation and to ensure appropriate services are in place. There is a Hearing scheduled for January 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in Courtroom 14.
