Two siblings age 12 yrs. old and 3 yrs. old came into care when their other sibling was born drug exposed on June 22, 2018. Both natural mother and infant tested positive for amphetamines, at the time of birth. Natural Mother was working with an adoption agency to find an adoptive home for the infant child once it was born. The agency was providing for her pregnancy needs and was unaware of the natural mother’s drug use. The adoption agency is still looking for adoptive placement for the infant sibling and Natural Mother signed her parental rights over to the agency. Natural mother had a current open case during this time due to having a previous drug exposed baby on June 18, 2017; in which she had terminated her parental rights to on July 10, 2018. The two remaining siblings were brought into care due to Natural Mother failing to provide them with proper care, custody, supervision, shelter, or other care necessary for their well-being, resulting in circumstances that indicated that their health and/or welfare was harmed or threatened with harm. It was discovered Natural Mother would leave the 12yr. old and 3 yr. old home with no phone during the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. while Maternal Grandmother was at work. The putative father of the 3 yr. old boy is incarcerated and the location of the 12 yr. old’s putative father’s whereabouts are unknown. The children are currently placed in a foster home. An attorney is needed to represent the children’s legal rights regarding permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure the appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing set for December 18, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. in Courtroom 20.
