Two sisters, 15 and 7 years old, were removed and placed with maternal grandmother based upon battery and domestic violence reports between mother and the 15 year old. The grandmother and the 15 year old suspect the natural mother is using meth and marijuana. The father as to 15 year old just established relationship with daughter and he currently lives out of state. The natural father as to 7 year old may have multiple domestic violence and child abuse charges pending but that has yet to be confirmed by the department. Neither are possible placements at this time and the children will remain in the care of maternal grandmother for the time being. These children are in need of an attorney to represent their wishes and legal rights to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. The next hearing is a Permanency Planning Hearing set for March 25, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in Courtroom 23.
