A 13 year old boy came into DFS care in April 2017, because his mother is unwilling or unable to care for him. The client and his three sisters previously came into care several times due to extremely unsanitary living conditions and no parental supervision. His mother is possibly mentally impaired, and his father has never been in contact nor provided any support. Sibling visitation may need to be arranged. The client has several academic, behavioral, and health issues that need to be addressed; he currently works with a therapist and is prescribed multiple psychotropic medications. He also runs away quite frequently and is currently on runaway status. He needs an attorney to represent his wishes regarding permanency, visitation, and placement, and to ensure the proper services are in place. Additionally, he may need to be placed in a Residential Treatment Center and the placement cannot move forward until he has legal representation. There is a Review Hearing on 11/15/17 at 10:45 am in CR 11.
