A 7-year old boy came into DFS care with three siblings in September, 2015 when their natural father burned one of the sibling’s hands on the gas stove. Neither parent took the child for medical attention. The parents are reportedly working their case plans. The parents currently reside in California but they intend to move back to Nevada. This client is placed in a foster home with one sibling and the other two siblings are placed together in a separate foster home. All siblings were previously represented by a CAP attorney, however a conflict of interests arouse between the siblings and the attorney had to withdraw. Each child will now need their own attorney. This client would like to return to his parents’ care. He needs an attorney to represent his wishes regarding permanency, placement, and visitation and to ensure the proper services are in place. There is a TPR Trial on June 30, 2017 at 10:00 am in Courtroom 22.
