Five siblings; ages 16 years, 13 years, 11 years, 9 years, 5 years, and 7 months, at the time they were initially removed, came into care in 2015. These children have been in the foster care system for the past 4 years due to allegations that their mother, older sibling, and one of the children’s father kidnapped and assaulted a woman to try to force her to prostitute for them while the children were in the home. The home was unkept, infested with roaches, and had very little food. The children also had access to multiple guns and knives in the home, some of the knives were located in the youngest child’s pack n’ play with the child. These children had an attorney but that attorney is no longer able to work the case due to a conflict. Adoptions are pending for the 4 remaining children still in care. These children are in need of an attorney to represent the children’s wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure the appropriate services are in place. There is a Review Hearing set for June 4, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in Courtroom 20.
